The Jardin des Rigonneries

Set in 1.3 hectares, this garden in the Vendée, created in 1992 by two nature lovers, offers a unique sensory experience. Open to visit between May and August, it is divided into two areas that combine modern design with the timeless charm of tradition.

The first section, designed by landscape architect Marjorie Nadon, takes you into a modern rose garden where every space, carefully arranged by colour, unfolds as a enchanting visual display. The heady scent of the roses drifts through the air, creating a soft, soothing atmosphere.

The second section of this Vendée park, sheltered by hedges, is a journey back in time, with 150 varieties of old roses that tell the story of the flowers of days gone by. Plants native to the Pays de la Loire add an authentic touch to this corner. A small 30 m² garden, where medicinal herbs and dahlias release their delicate scents, completes your immersion in the nature of the Vendée. While you visit the Jardin des Rigonneries, your children can enjoy a play area.

Please note that this park is a 20-minute walk or a 2-minute drive from our 4-star campsite in Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez.

La Roseraie de Vendée

Just 15 minutes from our campsite with water park in Vendée, you’ll find La Roseraie de Vendée. This three-hectare park is the result of the passion and the challenge set by its owner, a seventh-generation nurseryman. Created in the winter of 1990/1991, it relies on the natural resilience of roses in a coastal environment and showcases all the beauty and strength of these flowers. No fewer than 950 varieties of rose thrive here freely, with no chemicals or artificial watering. Among them, some are diseased. This is what makes this garden in Vendée so distinctive: nature simply takes its course.

During your visit, you’ll be enchanted by the elegant scent of the roses and can wander along the paths of a tree-filled park. From May to September, you can join one of the guided tours, which reveal the history and special features of this unique garden in Vendée. In high season, workshops are also held. To extend the sensory experience, do take a look at the products from this park in the Pays de la Loire: plants, jams and rose syrups are available in the shop.
